About Us

At SEPDO, we believe in the power of positive change driven by a united community. Established in 2016 by a passionate group of young volunteers, our organization is dedicated to supporting and working alongside the vulnerable communities of Somaliland. As a registered non-profit with the Minister of Planning and National Development of Somaliland, our focus spans a spectrum of essential areas, including empowering women, championing child rights, enhancing youth skills through educational programs, and amplifying the voices of vulnerable communities.

Our Vision:

SEPDO envisions an equitable society where women and youth are empowered, eliminating all forms of discrimination against women and girls. We inspire young minds to access resources and contribute to the betterment of their communities.

 

Our Mission:

Our mission is to bring about positive change by eradicating cultural barriers and power imbalances between women and men. We achieve this through:

  • Building the capacity of women and youth with leadership training.
  • Facilitating economic and political participation for sustained empowerment.
  • Implementing holistic approaches to environmental protection through climate adaptation and mitigation.

 

Our Areas of Impact

We all understand that the world we live in today presents significant challenges: to name a few, we must act quickly to solve issues of poverty, hunger, inequality, and climate change. To tackle great obstacles, audacious action is required; this is where the Global Goals come into play.
